Energy Modeling

Energy modeling is one of the most useful analyses , we can do while designing a green building. Our in house building energy analysts will deliver sate of the art modeling services while working closely with project teams. We practice integrated approach & provide simulations at early design stages to optimize passive design measures & comfort parameters. We will also provide modeling & simulation services for various green building code compliance & as a decision making tool in implementing efficient systems in the building.
Energy-modeling is the virtual or computerized simulation of a building or complex with a specific software, focusing on energy consumption, utility bills and life cycle costs of various energy related components of the building such as air conditioning, lights and hot water to determine the most efficient design. The most significant elements of the building in terms of energy are modeled to carry out simulation and evaluate for improvement in energy efficiency. The virtual model of the building is constructed from its component parts, including air conditioners, heaters, lights, and other energy loads, and is run through a simulation program with weather conditions for a full year to estimate the building’s monthly, and total, energy costs. It is also used to evaluate the payback of efficient energy solutions such as solar panels and photo voltaic, and high efficiency appliances.

Energy-modeling is used to:

  • Predict the monthly& yearly energy consumption
  • Predict the annual energy cost
  • Annual CO2 emissions
  • Compare and contrast different efficiency options
  • Determine life cycle payback on various energy conservation options.

Day Light Analysis

Day light is the controlled admission of natural light; direct sunlight and diffuse skylight—into a building to create a visually stimulating and productive environment for occupants and to reduce electric lighting and save energy.

It is recommended to perform day lighting analysis in the early design stages to understand various design variables & provide an efficient design.

Our analysts will provide accurate performance feedbacks of building design options relative to sustainability goals for different green building rating systems. Ex we provide LEED V4 reporting for Spatial Daylight Autonomy (SDA) and Annual Sunlight Exposure (ASE) metrics.

Sun Path Analysis

Sun path analysis will depict an overview of sun on site as Sun path is mapped across the sky at different times during the day throughout the year. So sun path analysis will help in determining the effect of shadows cast by buildings, trees and landforms on and around the site. Based on these results an architect can take full advantage of passive solar design features, and establish spacial arrangement, orientation, window placement, daylight access for a most efficient design .
